Megan – Makeup artist reveals the blush hack that will make you look younger

A makeup artist has shared the ‘blush hack’ she swears by for a lifted, youthful face – and it all comes down to how you apply your product.

Megan Miloshis wrote in an article for Adore Beauty’s Beauty IQ that while we’ve always been taught to ‘smile slightly’ so we can place the blush on the ‘apples’ of our cheeks, this actually means that you drag your face down and can look older.

‘I have another technique that delivers a healthy-looking flush to the cheeks and gives the illusion of sculpted, lifted cheekbones,’ Megan told Adore.

‘This is my blush hack for getting lifted cheekbones in under 60 seconds,’ Megan said in the clip.

‘We’ve always been taught that when we’re applying blush, we should make a little half smile and apply the product to the apples of our cheeks.

‘While this looks great when we’re smiling, once we relax our face, that main concentration of the blush is actually dragging our face downwards.’

Keep your face ‘completely straight, draw a pretend line from the centre of your pupil down your cheek and ‘apply your blush only from that line outwards towards your temple’ (pictured)

Megan said she did both techniques on both sides (correct way, left, incorrect way, right) – and said ‘hopefully you can see the difference’

Instead of doing this, Megan said you should keep your face ‘completely straight, draw a pretend line from the centre of your pupil down your cheek and ‘apply your blush only from that line outwards towards your temple’.

‘I’ve done both on either side of my face,’ Megan said.

‘The side where I smiled is going diagonally downwards, while the other side is up and lifted.

‘Hopefully you can see the difference.’
