Melissa Lyon has opened up for the first time since her marriage was ripped apart after she discovered her footy star husband was having an affair with his best friend’s wife.
Her husband Garry Lyon was having a scandalous secret relationship with his best friend and fellow former AFL player Billy Brownless’ wife Nicky.
The mother-of-three is in the United States to run the New York Marathon, and on Friday Ms Lyon told the Herald Sun ‘it still upsets me every day the thought of them together.’

‘The truth is that five years ago she destroyed my marriage,’ the 49-year-old said.
Melissa Lyon said after she first found out about the affair she thought it had all stopped once they had been caught.
She then discovered her husband and Nicky Brownless were continuing their relationship.
Ms Lyon said Ms Brownless had never reached out to her to apologise for ruining her marriage of 30 years.
Family occasions including 21st birthday parties involving the Lyon’s three sons Ben, 23, Tom, 21, and Josh, 19, have been ruined because of the affair, Ms Lyon said.

She felt insulted when Nicky Brownless opened up about her continuing relationship with Garry Lyon as they made their first public appearance at the Crown Oaks races together.
‘I couldn’t believe it. It just felt so disrespectful,’ she said.
Melissa Lyon has recently returned to television after taking a break from his role on the popular AFL Footy Show, on which both he and Billy Brownless appeared.
Ms Lyon also revealed the pair are yet to be formerly divorced, but have now separated their finances.
